The LATICRETE® 170 Sound & Crack Isolation Mat is a high-performance acoustic underlayment engineered to reduce noise transfer and protect tile and stone finishes from substrate movement. This sound deadening mat is available in 3mm, 5mm, 10mm, and 12mm thicknesses, in both roll and lightweight precision-cut sheet formats — giving contractors and DIYers a flexible solution for any project size.
As a dual-purpose sound dampening floor underlayment and crack isolation membrane, the 170 Sound & Crack Isolation Mat decouples the tile from the subfloor, absorbing impact noise and preventing substrate cracks from telegraphing through to the finished surface. The precision-cut sheet format lays flat immediately with no curling or acclimation time, and beveled edges create tighter, cleaner seams with guided alignment — making it one of the most installer-friendly sound absorbing floor mats on the market.
With up to 94% post-consumer recycled content, USA manufacturing, GREENGUARD certification, and a 25-year system warranty, the 170 Sound & Crack Isolation Mat is a sustainable, high-performance choice for both commercial and residential flooring applications.
