The Amity Storm is a basketball team made up of girls from Bethany and Woodbridge ages 11-13. The girls having been practicing once a week at either the Bethany Community School or at the Bethany Middle School, and played games on the weekends. The team formed last year as a travel squad allowing them to take part in State Tournaments and play top notch team from around Connecticut. It was a generous donation from LATICRETE that made their formation possible.
The team would like to sincerely thank LATICRETE for their generous donation and ongoing support. Funds from LATICRETE have been used for supplies, uniforms and most significantly, it has allowed the team to hire a top notch coach in Karen Marrone of Bethany. Karen was a star player at Amity High School and at Springfield College and has an extensive coaching resume. Karen is also the daughter of long time LATICRETE employee (and now retiree) Carol Johnson, also of Bethany.
Under Coach Karen, the girls have been learning the game of basketball and acquiring a better appreciation for the sport. The entire team, parents and Coach Karen would like to thank LATICRETE for their continued support and sponsorship of the Amity Storm Girls Basketball Team.
