Car Enthusiast Gets Custom “Carrara Marble” SPARTACOTE® Garage Floor
Evan Beckerman (aka Throtl on Instagram and YouTube), a car enthusiast and business owner wanted his personal garage floor to look like Carrara Marble. Ask and you shall receive!
The LATICRETE team partnered up with Orion DCP Inc. in California, USA, our friend and local polished and decorative concrete expert for this custom garage floor transformation using a variety of SPARTACOTE® products.
Watch the project unfold in Throtl’s YouTube video (skip to 4:40 mark) >
Products / Process Used:
1. PREP – First we prepped the garage floor by cleaning, grinding and filling in cracks

2. PRIMER – We applied a SPARTACOTE Moisture Vapor Barrier pigment base (black) as the primer to protect the floor from any moisture that may be trying to come up through the concrete substrate
3. METALLIC BODY COAT – We put down the custom color SPARTACOTE Metallic Pigments to help create a metallic epoxy floor look (this is completely custom to every job as every project comes out different). We used SPARTACOTE Surface Build UV resistant epoxy coating in clear with SPARTACOTE Metallic Pigments.
4. TOPCOAT – The final step was to roll on SPARTACOTE Flex XPL, topcoat, a clear gloss polyaspartic coating to protect the garage floor from chemicals. SPARTACOTE polyaspartic‘s are also utilized in commercial and industrial applications they protect against a wide range of solvents and chemicals such as brake fluid gasoline motor oil etc.
